Diabetes Treatment
Always refer to your physician for the proper diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.

The treatment of diabetes is dependent on the individual involved. Factors like age, general health, any other medical problems and complications from diabetes need to be considered.
Type 1 treatment must be continued indefinitely. Treatment does not impair normal activities, if carried out with care and discipline.
One key goal of diabetes treatment is blood glucose control.
Type 1 Diabetes
The person is treated with insulin, exercise and a diabetic diet. For people with diabetes, adherence to a diabetic diet is an important aspect of controlling blood glucose level. Insulin must be injected and cannot be taken through mouth. This is because stomach enzymes would destroy the insulin before it could get into our blood stream.
Type 1 diabetes treatment has to be carried on indefinitely. Careful monitoring of blood glucose level is an important aspect of treatment. This can be achieved using a home monitoring blood glucose meter.
I have just been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I was lucky that my daughter found your book online and downloaded it for me. There was a lot of information to absorb, but you made it very easy.......PS. The bonuses were great. Karl Johnson |

Type 2 Diabetes
The person is treated first with weight reduction, a diabetic diet and exercise. When these measures fail to control the levels of blood sugars, oral medications are used. Further treatment with insulin is considered if oral medication is insufficient to control the blood sugar level.
Emphasis is also placed on lifestyle adjustments (diet and exercise).
